Phantom in the Rain

Phantom in the Rain

If there was something I could say, would I say it?
If there was just one ounce of truth, would I fake it?
If I try and try to catch you eye,
Would you all still pass me by?
Did you all really think that I would make it?

Like a phantom in the rain, I walk by you.
I do not meet your eye, does it surprise you?
You don?t ever stop, with see-through eyes,
To really see the small, scared girl inside.
Yet you push me down, like you don?t even know me.

But I?m ok,
I can make it anyway.
I always have, I always will.
I may get lonely inside,
But as far as you know, I?m alright.
I?ll keep going, until I?m no longer still
Just a phantom in the rain.

If you just thought I?d deal, think again.
I?ll just let you carry on until it rains.
Though I?ve gotten smart from being on my own,
I still fall into the traps that are well-known.
That?s why I suffer from all of this pain.

But I?m ok,
I can make it anyway.
I always have, I always will.
I may get lonely inside,
But as far as you know, I?m alright.
I?ll just keep on going, until I?m no longer still,
Just a phantom in the rain.

It can?t go on like this.
Something has got to give.
I?ll always have something that I?ll miss,
But I just have to live
Live and give.

I?m ok.
I have made it anyway.
I always did, I always will.
I still get lonely inside,
And they still don?t see that I?m not alright.
I am still going, and I am still
Just a phantom in the rain.
