The Image...

the image..
a friend of mine.
a good friend of mine.
the sweetest kid.
creating it..
taking his turn..
passing it on to others.
what can i do though.
not a thing.. not a thing.
i can only be there
to encourage his actions
and except them as well.
a pet peeve, its my number one..
all i can do is have it run through my mind
over.. and over.. and over again.
just the image..
of him.. the sweetest kid.
the days he tries..
and those days he could care less..
im there im there.
through it all, thick and thin.
he knows.. im there. he should know by now.
these eyes of mine..
what pain they`re in.
i close them to relax, to rest them.
and there.. there`s the image..
of him.. the sweetest kid.
having no other choice but to follow his heart..
to take it.. and inhale the pleasing amount..
but following your heart, well that`s not bad.
that`s why im here.. im always here.
i love you and that`s the reason i`m standing up beside you.
and there it is.. the image..
the image of my friend.
the sweetest kid.
following his heart.

I like this even though in a sense it is not clear; when you say he is following his heart, are you saying he is in love with someone else. Is he in love with you but you have different views yet are in a supportive role? It is incomplete except that you are there for him to help him achieve his goal whther you agree with it or not. That is what i see, but it encourages me if what he seeks is noble and good. All i know is that you think he is sweet, but why is he sweet?

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
