The Child Inside.

I am a failure.
I am guilt stricken, hanging my head in the endless abhorrence of myself.
I am so afraid of the world around me.
I am so hurt by the things people do.
I don't understand.
My memory torments me; wild horses run blindly over ended film, braying shrilly,
joints buckling, snapping, keeping me from sleep.
And when I sleep;
When I sleep I am captive to my dreams; a woolen sun rending the flesh from my fingers, eating away at the pain, leaving me vulnerable, leaving me alone to face the child inside.
And I am afraid.
I am withering away. Everyday I lose more weight. I look in the mirror and I don't even know the person I see. I am dying and I am afraid to die.
There is nothing in this world that I desire.
There is nothing left but love,
and my love is festering bitter rage.
All I want is a warm place.
All I want is to feel nothing.
All I want is to see God.

This is potent. Honest and moving, and many of the lines just revibrate upon reading, especially the last.
I hope life dawns upon better days to come. All the best, and keep writing. Aurë entuluva.
