To Inconsolable

Topic: toughstuff

How do you console
the inconsolable?
Every word sound hollow
it's meaning lost
somewhere between
what I mean to say
and what it means
Is it a game?
Guess what you want to hear
and tell you those words
Who wins?
When I truely feel your pain
I do not have
any words to offer
I am at complete loss
But my feeling it
I am sure does not
reduce even a tiny bit
of what you are going through
I want to believe
that there is something
in my heart
that would hug you
shield you and dull away
your perception enough
for you to face another day

Hmmm...I would think this poem is a good start...As long as the person knows you are there for them, if they want to talk, then you are helping in some way. I like the way you wrote this. Kind of mixed emotions, and yet heartfelt and honest. Good job.
