Toe to Toe
Let’s see who is taller
Take a measure
Of simple pleasure
And watch the night grow longer
Eyes stare at eyes
Pupils blue with crystal disguise
Foreheads sway then collide
As the lips blossom
Ready to take in their prize
The feel of being felt
Heat on wax to drip and melt
Patience tests their limits
Heart beat slowed to one a minute
And suddenly we are all up in it
