Something vs. Some thing || Nothing vs. No thing

Contributed by Desolated_Denial on Thursday, 6th October 2005 @ 12:50:36 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Falling.
Room spinning.
Nausa fills up, the mind is flipping.
She looks down.
Nothing there.
Fear overtakes her as she wonders if she's even there.
She looks around.
Then looks up.
Sees a hand.
It goes to grab her.
She ducks out of the way, just in time.
It's gone.
Confusion.
She ventures out.
Again, nothing is there.
Dark.
No light.
No where.
Why?
It doesn't occur to her.
She continues on looking down to where her feet are supposed to tread.
Do they?
No.
Nothing there.
Once again.
Down the hall.
Keep going.
Can't go back.
Nothing good ever comes from going back.
Keep going.
Don't stop.
Can't stop.
If she stops, she will die.
If she stops, she will be alive.
Keep going. Don't stop.
Can't stop.
Looks up.
A shadow?
A shadow.
It stares at her.
No eyes, but the stare is peircing.
Why? Shouldn't a shadow have eyes?
Shadow eyes?
Shadow nothing.
Nothing shadow.
That's it.
The latter.
Nothing shadow.
That's all.
That's all it ever was.
Nothing.
Nothing big.
Nothing small.
Only the greatest nothing.
So great, it was close to being something.
No.
It's nothing.
It always will be.
She goes back.
Back to the beginning.
She looks up, once again.
Into her past.
The hand is there.
It goes to reach her.
This time.
This time, she does not move.
Long, tendril like fingertips.
Wrap around.
Wrap around the skin.
Closing.
Closing tighter.
Can't breath.
Help.
Can't breath, can't see.
Can't feel.
This numbness hurts.
Does it?
She can't tell.
Numb.
Pain.
Numb.
Pain.
Black.
Nothing.
Nothing shadow.
Shadow nothing.

Smoking pot never did this for me, but I can imagine how it must feel like for people on who it works.(an opinion)

Really want truth?
Thought invoking, although I was confused on what was going on, it justs seems the whole poem is about nothing, the black, although the title does have nothing in it.
I did enjoy it to a point, it was a quick read.

i like this write ...

tho im not sure its a poem
but then who is to say what a poem really is ...

what i like about it, is that you dont
set it up or explain it ... its just there

what one gets out of it, is what one puts into it ...

Something vs. Some thing, or Nothing vs. No thing

or Something vs. No Thing ... and vice versa ...

i got a lot out of it

i really love your work .....the poem i've read from you so far."mommy dearest cut off my hand"...(or something)....reminds me of an old nine inch nails song ....i don't know but it just does......but this poem is much better even though the other one kicked a** as well.
