Tony

Contributed by EoAngel on Sunday, 19th January 2003 @ 11:20:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

His name is Tony
He's one of a kind
Loved by everyone
From his house to mine

Born with down syndrom
And leukemia at five
He was still very anxious
And very much alive

Very happy he was
He thought the leukemia was gone
He went to school and had fun
Playing with his friends all day long

At the age of thirteen
All that changed
When the doctors said
It was back again

For many days he was tested and tested
For a cure that was not there
His mother tried so hard not to cry
But all the could do was try to survive

He sat most of the time
And could not walk
Still a wonderful boy
That loved to talk

The day before
He had fun
He went swimming
With his friends and his mom

Then that night
All tucked in his bed
His mom said "goodnight"
He wispered "goodbye"

Now here we are
Where everyone cries
Saying we'll miss him
Then more cry

Now it's my turn
I don't know what to say
The only things I can think
Are I love you and goodbye

Extremely touching! It left me speechless knowing what you're feeling. Perfect poem and it must have been hard to write it. Stick in there! *hugs*
