Carnivorous House Plant

It’s so cold I can see my breathe
This frozen existence
Breeds chaos in my head
Keep your distance
Or you may be led
Down the river of sadness
Where I float like I’m dead
Friends who lack friendship
And priests who lack faith
Children who lack family
Dancers without grace
Losers and winners
The proverbial race
Money is power
And power is lust
Envy quickly turns to hate
And no one is left to trust
Weary as the moon
That protects the stars
Internal conflictions
Re-open the scars
In the battle of war
In this moment of time
In the heat of the oven
Melted is this heart of mine
Described to perfection
As if self provoked
A lethal injection
The promise I never broke
But you could never keep
In moderate elevations
With precise hesitations
Power and jealousy detach
The conclusion of the query
Explains nothing to me
As I begin to re-hatch and mismatch
A declaration of anonymity
Your secrets safe with me
Pardon the morbidity
And the poisonous levels of acidity
You bring it out in me!
It’s your promiscuity!
Willing to freely sell
What you can never own
A premonition should have struck you
Bleed you to the bare bone
An epiphany, a concert of delicate tone
In proximity, you could not discern
The promise matters none
Its intention has become, undone
A misinterpreted decision
Spoken only in true religion
The nailed curtains are your prison
Desperation attacks your core
The apple is passed its expiration, sour
Yet your back to taste some more
A missing connection
While the falcon and the dragon
Guard you at your back- door
Grab our possessions
Don’t forget my ambition
I think you left it on the floor
Masterful inspirations
Creative inclinations
Your promise was a mirage
For in the end, when all is said
And a “closed” sign, blinks neon red
Speak your last words with scorn
And know for certain
The promise is now dead and gone

Yes, an emotive piece indeed, and seemingly another trip to the past. Not everything negative that happens to a person, is the result of someone else's doing. We bring alot of the grief on ourselves, and oftentimes...it doesn't have to be that way. Good write; I hope you felt better after writing this.

yea ... this poem does throw one off a bit ...
but its really a good work ...
an amazing amount of ideas throughout the entire context ...
jerking you from side to side like a roller coaster ride on 3 wheels ...
yet flowing well together with great use of language ...
articulate, creative, un-repetitive, without cliches
really good!
