One Hour With My Pyschologist

Contributed by AllyBaba on Thursday, 6th October 2005 @ 12:42:54 AM in AEST
Topic: abstract

I took those few steps i dread.. into his office.
I love being a closed book, and to be opened would reveal too much to understand.
This is my second appearance here.. the first, we were just acquainted.
Now I know, he`ll want to know something.. like of why I`m here.
But the thing is, I don`t know why I`m here, I`d choose not to be.
My poor mother, she says she had no other choice, couldn`t think of anything else for me.
Well, maybe he`ll have some answers to my questions. So I`ll give it a shot.
"So tell me, why are you here?"
"Well sir, I`m not too sure what the answer is to that. So I ask myself the same thing."
"You seem to be a very intelligent person."
I just look at him.. with a glitter in my eyes from the sun shining through the window behind him.
I gesture, showing my carelessness for his pointless statements.
He requests that I sit tight, he`ll be back in a minute.
Alone in this room.. too quiet for me. I get a rush of a strange feeling, like im isolated from the world, from time.
I laugh at myself.
I get comfortable on this chair knowing so many other bodies have made an attempt to do the same thing.
Weights on my eyelids, I drift off ...

They open.. I`m weak. Staring up at a ceiling.
"Oh gosh I`m sorry. I don`t know how I ended up falling asleep" I seem to say that to myself. I`m still alone in this room.
I get up fast, startled for some reason.
I walk through the door, out of the room, into the waiting area.
I see my mom.
Relief overwhelms me.
I`m so happy to see her.. I can`t help but smile.
I give her a hug.
I know now that`s as open as I`ve got to be.
So much can happen just in an office of counselor,
Even if alone.
He left me.. but I know my mother could never do such a thing now.
