Just Friends

Contributed by DesolantDreamer on Tuesday, 4th October 2005 @ 04:12:07 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

“Just Friends.”
A term so innocent
Yet so powerful
It can make even the strongest person
Crumble under its weight.
Unrequited love,
The most painful there is.
That pain is magnified if the person you love is your friend.
Sadness and hurt
Forever embedded in your heart
Every time you hang with each other.
“Woes of the heart are strongest felt.”
A quote I live by.
For my love is not returned,
And never will it be.
A sadness that follows me everywhere,
Like a shadow.
My love haunts my every emotion,
My soul.
Never ceasing to let me feel happy.
Such a fate unfolding,
I can never be free from his immense grip.

Unrequetted love ......you expressed this well..i really liked this....i think that i can agree with you there....but i have been in a place where he didn't even want to be friends and i was so in love with him that i would have killed to be at least his friend..i just couldn't imagine not being able to know him at all..i didn't think i could survive that way....i still feel that way about him although it is true that it really doesn't work...because i know i would probably constantly bring up the fact that i want more...your poem made me think..lol....yuck..i hate thinking...lol.....thanks for posting this...

"Unrequetted love is the highest sadness to me" I agree with you there. I love this poem. You nailed it right on the dot. Great job!

Yeah, that feeling sucks big time!! The only real way to deal with it is to stop being friends with the person, if you can't get over your feelings of love.
That's what I had to do, as sad as it is...It's worse to keep hurting yourself repeatedly though, especially if you're getting mixed messages.
This is an emotive write, and I feel your pain. Good luck.
