Electric Poles and Telephone Wire
Cell phone Towers and Hi-fi
All come together with Satellites and Cable
To render us unable
To assimilate the data
Which bombards our senses.
While Ipods and Tivo
Headphones and Bluetooth
Separate us from each other
Help us to live in our own little bubble
Give us security
While we ignore humanity
Revealing our frailty
And need for technology
To obtain self-sufficiency
O when will see past our 15" screen
To a world that moves on relentlessly
When will we reach past our wireless signal
To reach out our hand to those in need
Our focus is fixed on the face in the mirror
Our concerns ultimately center around "number 1"
I frankly don't care where your soul's at
But have you seen the new wireless mouse that I bought for my cat?
