A Credo

Contributed by Man_On_High on Tuesday, 4th October 2005 @ 01:09:12 AM in AEST
Topic: poets

I conclude
all conclusions are superfluous
full stops that never stop long enough
to be duely devoured by logic;
truth is forever 'round the next bend..
look into the honest face of a "Man"
and therein lies the vacuity of himself
mirrored in undiscerning depth... immense.

Blissful is the Man possessing nothing...
lest the intamacy of the smallest cellular pluse
in the tremendous and most giving life all about him
which might be truth beyond the assertion-
the living,
striding into madness and therefore,
worthy of devout persuit.

I conclude
that love enters through the eyes-
trembles a while at the figertips
and departs through an opened mind.

Conquering love, the taking off and puttin on of garments
is not nearly as affectionate as the putting on and taking off
of masks...
the best lovers are clowns.

I conclude
the hope of every HONEST Man is phallic-cored
and the beauty of one woman..
is unequalled to the beauty of the next...
fortunately for poets.

Finally,
I conclude
each exsistence is a casual targedy
or an indifferent comedy..
as the case may be
sustained only by the image of another life
and the last sad laborious truth..

There isn't a damned thing to know, except nothing.

M.O.H.

Very emotive piece here Billy. Mixed emotions are evident. I feel there's more to this than what's on the surface. This was well done in it's entirety,
but I truly love this part:

Conquering love, the taking off and putting on of garments
is not nearly as affectionate as the putting on and taking off
of masks...
the best lovers are clowns.

Fantastic job.

I have to say I do agree totally with you. Everytime you think you know something or someone, change always comes and brings uncertainty. Sad we can never be completely at ease in our relationships. Wishing you happiness, if it truly does exist. Great write, Billy.

Truly,
Rita

Well. I have read this and re-read it and still find new things to ponder
on. Billy this was exceptional in it’s concept and execution. I don’t know
that I fully understand the meaning or depth of it, but I sense a certain
existentialist tone. Almost sad in it’s telling.

The concept of “the possession of nothing as bliss” is quite the
realization and one that many never discover. Some spend an eternity
in the pursuit of possessions, never to realize that the pursuit
itself leads to ultimate emptiness. I have to agree with the stanza
on love too. The best lovers ARE clowns! And this line....

"the hope of every HONEST Man is phallic-cored"

powerful and bold, but so refreshing. The end somewhat saddens
me a little though....an almost hopelessness is tucked between the lines,
or a pointlessness maybe......
HOWEVER, be that as it may,
I conclude, that this is a masterful piece of work and one that I hope many
will take the time to read. Wonderful job, Billy. My new favourite!

as always,
~Breezy

Dearest Billy another masterpiece to top the rest. I totally agree with u on this one, but I think there is alot more behind the lines.
Mixed emotions, you draw ur reader in and leave them captivated to read from beginning to end. So much sadness in this one my friend. Chin up sweet guy.
Heartfelt *hugs* to u from ur devoted fan,
Sue, Dreamer

Wow MOH you have done it again. The lines I quoted above really got me thinking. You did a wonderful job here, and I think you may have explained a lot to so many who didn’t even know they were looking for an explanation.

The above 3 lines are worded in such a way...that love from beginning to end is condensed into this brief, intake to exhale kinda thing… but when it trembles a while at the fingertips….kinda makes it all worth it.

Just my take

Nice work as always

Sincerely, a true fan
