Sadly disrespect kissed us with its bloody lips
Tainted by someone else’s ideas
Twisted into cruel words and good-byes
Hidden meanings leave us empty
Without you the sun does not shine
Pride has slipped from our shoulders
As we have nothing to say about you anymore
We still smile and make believe you care
We cannot complain of your indifference
For the shame is on us that we raised you that way
To disrespect us with such hatefulness
I will not shed a tear for this misbehavior
Instead I patiently await your apology
For one day your eyes will see more clearly
And your heart will deeply feel the loss
Of that which you can never replace
Love that is unconditional and forever
In the hearts of those who gave you life

Sometimes it doesn't matter how you raise them, they do what they do. Ya know? "For one day your eyes will see more clearly" My thirty-something yr. old daughters now apologize for some of the grief they put me through yrs. ago. I truely feel this write. It is very succinct in it's message. Kudos!

Oh Merry, what an awesome write about an obviously painful piece of your life ... written with your usual direct style that hits between the eyes ... loved the poem, but am deeply sorry also ... Jan |
