Dear God (a prayer for strength)

I kneel at my bedpost, head bowed and eyes closed
Interlock fingers, position imposed
Tears, they do mingle at the corner of eyes
As my words outline a prayer through cries
Dear God, open me, look into my soul
Wrap arms around me and make me whole
Caress my wounds until they heal
Understand what i say and how i feel
Give me the strength to stay standing tall
Embrace my frailty as i start to fall
Deliver my pain, have it make me strong
Send to me guidance to where i belong
Watch over me, Jesus, keep near my heart
Help piece me together if i break apart
Bring to the surface what you can mend
Thank you my father, in your name, Amen
