At the onset
all full of hopes
she never realized
something was amiss
perhaps an inkling
feeling of emptyness
she had always thought
it was just a hunger
it wasn't simply that
It was hunger alright
hunger for love
craving affection
burning desire
for attention
ambitions
Yes, she had hopes
giving wings and
a mask to her hunger
Strength and conviction
noble motives at heart
she knew she could satiate
all of her hungers
with greed she fed
More she fed,
more she craved
until one day
she didn't know what
she had ever wanted
she is simply
forever lost...

Interesting piece. It's a perceptive picture you've painted.
