Captive Audience Prophet

I watch the seasons
change and old pain slowly fades
I'm a stranger In danger
of overloading
as lost souls tell me what they are all about.
When did I become the prohet
the one who knows everything
firewalls are blocking
so I have trouble remembering
why I am trembling
In fear and doubt.
The people gather and someone's laughing
as I slip and fall down
no one's is listening
no one cares
they warm themselfs on the embers
of my emotions as they burn...
I'm a captive of anothers rant
pretending that I am Interested
visibly I shiver and shake
yet still they flow on,
ohhhhh
I'm afraid there's been a fatal error
this transmission is terminated
I see thier lips moving
but I hear no more words.
I ain't no angel and I have no halo
still they come at me
looking at me to preach
about some non exsistence prophecy,
In confusion
they reason
I should make thier choice
as they are not really conversating
they are only talking to hear thier own voice.
stop talking to me
I don't care what they say
don't wanna know what they're thinking,
there is no prophecy
I'm in hell myself
lookin for a reason for being.

From an emotional standpoint this is a good write. I can relate to this on a personal level. (but for other reasons I think it is good for me to look at helping others) |
