Ode To Friendship

Contributed by Darkhorse71 on Sunday, 2nd October 2005 @ 05:41:16 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

Oh what a joy to see your face
on each new breaking day!
Your youth and beauty are so great
I know they'll always stay.

Your head is so filled up with thoughts,
your mind is such a treasure;
that when you choose to share it all
it gives me so much pleasure.

The world is filled with so much pain,
it's a cold and desolate place.
It wakes me up to look and see
the life that you embrace.

You always have a caring heart
and a smile for those in need.
You give yourself to everyone
and know nothing of greed.

Even though you have your share
of problems in your life,
you're quick to laugh, and full of fun;
You don't give in to strife.

I'm grateful for the time we've shared,
you've made me laugh with tears.
You make my life a better place,
a friend to last for years.

Terrible two lines or your view of what world is, it all depends where you are looking, rest of it was just okay. Nice sentiments for a friend, I am sure, and your friend would be quite pleased to read this.

Wow, John! This was spectacular. I loved it! What a beautiful
and loving poem for a friend. It's great when you have people
like that to count on and you expressed your appreciation with such aplomb!
Great job John. Enjoyed this immensely!

I've read several really good friendship poems the past few days, and this one is right up there as well. Great job, and your thoughts just flowed along. Sounds like an awesome friend, and you must be too, to write such a nice poem.
