No Regrets

Contributed by Darkhorse71 on Sunday, 2nd October 2005 @ 05:23:30 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

Why is it that our dreams come true
leave us feeling sad and blue?
Life's standing promise of a joyous 'morrow
always ends in wretched sorrow.

At least I had you for a time,
you made the bells in my heart chime.
But now it's over as you leave me,
and that's the start as my heart grieves me.

I'm glad for all the moments shared,
I'm also glad because you cared
to make the most of moments few;
for letting me give my heart to you.

If we could measure love from loss,
then there is no higher cost
than that which I have paid so true;
for I lost my heart to you.

No matter how much it hurts I can bend,
cause you'll always be special and that helps to mend.
If given the choice to do it again,
I would never lessen my love for you my friend.

Very nice, I like this! Kind of ties in with mine in a way....I wish I had the answer to that opening question of yours!! Good job expressing your feelings in this write. I enjoyed it, and it is very relatable.

Very good attitude to part with.
No regrets when ya know u did it right.
It's when u can walk away with a clean heart that brings inner peace.
Kep up the fantastic work, my friend.

I really like this poem... but I have to admit, I feel like the first stanza
is a bit unneccessary and might actually take away from impact
of the poem by over-prefacing your story.
I love the rhymes you chose, and I really like the slightly a-rhythmic
meter you have used... I think it emphasizes the mixed
feelings that are portrayed through the poem.
Very nice :)

Positive way to part, there is no loss compared to all the love we receive while any relation lasts. Hopefully there is one everlasting love somewhere that we don't see yet.

Beautifully expressed John. Your strong caring heart shines
through every line and even though you are grieved, your words
are full of gratitude and sweetness.
"to make the most of moments few;
for letting me give my heart to you."

What a great couple of lines. So very touching and genuine.
I am moved...

John, dont EVER feel that a when you release, the heart, it cant be looked at, all prespectives.
You have such a HEART, that is filled with such, hope, and love.!
It, just has to know that it has, released things good and upseting, in the past few weeks, so its twisting and turning, and not responding, to the head.! SMILE...........it will all be remembered.!

"Why is it that our dreams come true
leave us feeling sad and blue?"- fave lines. Don't know the answer, but it got me thinking.

Good stuff.
