Regret Me Not

Contributed by hauntedscorp on Saturday, 1st October 2005 @ 10:43:36 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

Your words hurt me
this I can't deny
Out to bash me
but I don't understand why

I was honest with you
not a word of a lie
I confided in you
but you won't even try

You said you wished to 'free me'
tell me, what was it you meant?
Instead you went and deceived me
(but I can't think of time better spent...)

This was an excellent little poem, and I think it delivered the message you were aiming at quite well, but it was a teeny bit simplistic with the rhyming is all. The best stanza was of course the last one, and I liked your use of brackets there. The subject matter too was something I myself enjoy to write about, and you pulled it off rather nicely. I just love that last line, lol if I mention it again by the time I finish this comment I wouldn't be surprised. I've been in this scenario so many times recently and it just helped your write speak to me *that* much more. Great write...

...and great last line! (lol see? I mentioned it again :P )

Well written. People are so bad at just saying what they mean, and feel. I hate people who hide behind lame excuses.

This is a great write. I know nothing in life comes easy, but I don't see how you can have such a good attitude in this situation. I'm envious!!!

peace and hugs, john

As usual you never disappoint me in your writing...how unfortunate though that you have to write about disappointment. I hope someday, sooner than later, you will no longer have to write poems like this one. Not saying you don't write great, you do. This is a brilliant write and you are such a kind soul...in the middle of your anguish and pain you still love through all that. You are the Scorperiffic without any doubt in my mind. Fantastic person; fantastic writing.

Take care, Scorpenator.
