As the autumn leaves settle
On the fading grass
Two leaves remain
On the tall oak tree’s skeleton
Over the course of the next few days
The autumn wind
Tried to blow the two leaves
Off their branches
But the two leaves still remained locked onto the tree
Time went on
And more tests were performed
As the winter snow came into the ever-changing picture
The two leaves –
Still holding tight to the branches –
Were put through wind, hail, ice,
And snow
But they still remained
Even through the toughest of storms
The leaves remained
Weathered and old
They remained to the tree
Faithful servants to an old master
But then
One day, a small breeze fluttered by
And one of the leaves flew away
Into the horizon with the light gust of air
Then, there was only one leaf
A single leaf
Holding strong
Remaining
Without its companion
The single leaf felt vulnerable
To all dangers
It gave up trying to remain
Locked to the tree
Then eventually…
It too flew away.

aww, bones!! that is SO sad. i hope that second leaf follows the first, catches up, makes things better and they find a new tree to hold onto, so Bones can be a little happier again.
really, Bones, i'm sorry that this is happening, but if those 'leaves' went through all that, things can be patched up again. please don't give up or let go, bones.
great write though, keep up the great work!
