Tomatoes and Reality

Contributed by SunflowersAndTea on Saturday, 1st October 2005 @ 02:12:44 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Plump tomatoes-
Seeds and juice, ripe,
flowing down my wrist as I lick it off,
chewing, eyes close, lips betraying my years,
Soft with the fruit of the mile-second,
no, not chapstick either,
but tongue, and teeth, immersed in growth,
tasting the earth,
Calling out to Gaea,
thanking her.

Nice vision. Nice message while doing that. I like the tongue and teeth... tongue related with pleasure, new experience each time tasting.. the independent teeth feeding upon and along with the tongue.. seeking nourishment, fruit and life.. Gaea..

Very succulent poetry

I've written about food before, so I really shouldn't say anything. But I don't really like following too many rules, even my own (Gets me in trouble with myself, though. I end up hating myself for doing things I told myself not to do. Anyway... wait, other side of the thing) yes, this side.... my own rules, that is. Ha ha! My comment, I believe, Is longer than your poem. And your wierd for writing a seriousish poem about food.
Take care.
David

My comments are wierd because I'm online from 12 to 6 am. I apologize, first, because I used the wrong 'your' in my earlier comment. It sould have been 'you're'. Second, I've written a poem about a number. Tomatoes and reality, no matter how wierd the may be, or how they might coexist.... I lost my train of thought. I apologize for that too. So, yeah, it's ok to be wierd.
Take care.
David
