Her hugs are drugging all my words

Contributed by In_a_While on Saturday, 1st October 2005 @ 11:55:14 AM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

She snorts her pills and says "I do"
I heard love kills...well, is it true?
she walks with me on streets of night
I heard her say "it's me, don't fight!"

Her shadow's pouring into me!!
I can't see the fresh cut flowers
Help me set the clown's smile free
before the laughter soon devours!

She crushes pills and melts me down
I think it's late....too late to frown
she guides me through the alley's blue
i never knew my addictions grew

Her hugs are drugging all my words
so I can't help my lonely tears
They fall like many tired birds
while in the forest, no one hears...

no one hears.

Addiction becomes a base for so many writers, it is mine as well, Im in a constant battle with this. This poem is very good, I can't say how much I relate, because that would be wrong, I relate to addiction, but your words are yours,,,,just yours, God, really excellent poem its soft and pretty, yet dark and ugly, Addiction is a catch22, no matter what u do, it seems like its just too powerful. You really had me reading this a couple of times, its very intriguing, anyway I wish you well, be strong.....Life is what we make of it, I have to tell myself this too, but uhhhhhhh, I don't even listen!
