tears and flies

Contributed by reprobate on Friday, 30th September 2005 @ 11:10:44 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

black snakes of neglected grit and spastic alone
weaving ribbon-like between the rows of ugly stone
where they've crossed, are filled with pools of angry life
explained only by these streets with hate so rife

your daddy made you brother to way too many
mommy's 'sickness' needs, so she sleeps with any
no food, no light, no clothes... there's always the street
calling with a satanic voice of sirens, shots and heat

there's 'family' to be had, away from these damned halls
with this 'family', comes a price; oh yeah, the street calls
out here the money's fast, just costs you a corner in the 'hood
Blood In, don't sound bad; BLOOD OUT...don't sound so good

screw it, you know there ain't no tomorrow. ever
they take, don't expect them to give. they don't. never
live for the minute, 'cause that's all you got
not even a tear for the baby that was shot

blood in, seems that there's really no way out
since that's what life handed you, leaves no doubt
blood out, it just ain't gonna make you crawl
and at the ripe old age of ten, you've seen it all

the morning is filled with stench and unholy flies
decay for their breakfast, walking on lifeless eyes
the deal went south, you'll never know or tell how or why
and there's no tears from the 'family' that just let you die

you will be missed, but not by those you thought cared
we tried to love you, more than should have been dared
all of this lost love won't bring you back to those who do
yes, we tried to love you...way more than you ever knew

never again will these eyes see your lovely smile
and the only thing left for us to hold is this police file
you found your comfort in things of our evil and such
goodbye dear child, for you, this life, was just too much

Your story ( poem ) almost made me cry. I hope this not a true story. It reminds me of my own childhood. I can say no more than that right now, This hit too close to home for me.

Just not what kids, should know or do.! I dont get it, yet, i can relate, to an extent. Some of us, did grow up with BAD childhoods.yet not as bad as others.! Why does it always have to be the children, and old ppl? Makes NO sense..................very sad, write here. I am sorry for the loss, if its truth. He shouldnt of been made, to live like that. Kids are helpless..............no one should have to.!
