I only want love. . .

Contributed by Archie on Friday, 30th September 2005 @ 10:31:23 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Oh love
it is a wonderful dream
I have to stop my self
before I go too deep

keep it to just thoughts within my heart
and a heart beat that keeps racing
retracing the foot steps of love

So when I meet her she will be my sister
protected and gaurded like a golden rose
Under loves protection we'll both grow and mature
until in our hearts love's bloomig shows

I only want love
that's true
a love to last a lifetime
even if I have to wait one

I only want love
for real
not a bunch of feelings
or a love of lust desirous

I've seen in others
all those things lead to dead ends
and my heart is sensitive
and it will not recover

I only want love
that's true
a love that has no shadows
a love that's worth the waiting

I only want love
for real
a love to last a life time
and I don't mind waiting

I've seen in others
all those things lead to dead ends
and my heart is sensitive
and it will not recover

I only want love
that's true
a love to last a lifetime
or let me never fall in love

yes, i agree... waiting is better than getting crushed by fakes many and many times, so then you are too afraid to love when the true one comes around. great write, archie, and stick to your plans, i hope they work out for you! great write, keep up the good work!

Wow! And they say men don't get it. This shows tremendous emotional maturity. As someone who has been married for a long time and been through lots of emotional crap, let me just say, you had better make sure it is true love, cause it's the hardest thing in the world to live with someone else for the rest of your lives if it is not. Lucky for me I have true love.

Good luck to you in your search for your lucky girl.

Ann

Yes, you've written a great piece again. True Love waits until Time is ready, and then it shows itself. Too often we lose ourselves in infatuation.
Well written, my friend.
Take care.

Really enjoyed this!! When I feel unloved (even in marriage--which I will never give up on) I reach out to the One who ordained it and know that His arms will wrap around me and hold me tight!

Thank you for sharing this poem--I think of my daughter's own pursuit of love when I read this!
