I speak to you

Contributed by Archie on Thursday, 29th September 2005 @ 10:34:53 AM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

I had a go at this a few days ago
and I thought somehow I'd get you to see
but you said that the best thing to do
was to keep my words inside of me

I always belived when I came to this site
in the exchange of ideas
but for exchange to come
we need to have communication

I know you don't agree with me
and that is where this has led
"Somethings must remain sacred"
that is somehow what you said

I'm past the point of hearing what you think
for I tried to say it cordially
You have the right to say what you want
and believe what you will believe

I believe in fairness
I treat you like I want to be
I have been here quite a while now
and that is not what I see

Now if you think that is religious
then I guess you have me all wrong
It's true that I have some strong beliefs
but i don't see that as being wrong

I want you to talk to me
like I talk to you
if you say that we're friends
that should be easy to do

But if you think I ask too much of you
then it's time we went our separate ways
I hope it will not come to that
once you hear what i have to say

I think that friendship is a two way street
we each give and we each receive
there are a few people I must say
that is just not how they believe

Take what you want to from this poem
I have said what I said from my heart
I took some time to think about it
but you have to convince your own heart

I'll speak to you

If you speak to me

That's all I have done

That's what I believe

There is a lot I have learned and written
that is because of you
Maybe it could be the same
If you had the same attitude

___________________________________________

(Personally)

Take this the way you want to
Look at me as being mad
Think of me as being selfish
Place on my words your tag

But when I see the many poems
that just go unread
This is supposed to be an interactive site
atleast that's what I read

I speak to you

Will you speak to me

Take my words how you want them

That's what I believe

Yes I want you to read my poems
just like I read yours
Yet I hope you won't just read mine
on this site there are many more

For 16 months i have spoken
and I picked not a fight
but I'm taking my stand on this
because i think that it is right

Say what you will make up excuses
why you can't make three to one
If you have time to right some words
then you have time to comment on some

I speak to you

I hope you speak to me

Think what you want

That's what I believe

I know some will disagree with this poem and say all manner of reasons to show their point of view. You have a right to that as i have stated mines above. My hope in writing this is that more people will take the time to read more poetry especially if they are not reading 3 to 1. I am grateful for those who read and participate on the site and in no way ask you to do more than you have done. I think my poem says everything else that i want to say -Take it as you will.

Very well voiced! It's a shame this didn't get more reads, because many slackers on here need to hear this time and again. At the same time, there are many good members on here that at least do the bare minimum 3:1, and a decent amount that have even done more than their fair share of commenting. It's the selfish people that are dragging this site down. Great job getting your point across with this one!

Bravo Archie!
I just love and respect people who have the guts to speak their convictions out regardless of approval praise or reproach.
Hail to the bold!
I also want to let you know I just love your understanding, - in simplicity of the heart - of matters of faith.
I fail to understand why some writers feel a work must be necessarily intriguing, slanted and sophisticated. Why complicated when it goes simple? :) :)
Blessed are those that have a pure heart and state their case and what is in their heart with openness, truthfully and courageously. as they see it, and feel about it,. truthfully as per their lights.

Blessings
Elizabeth
