The river flowed full days ago in hast,
from mountain slope it made its way to lake.
Now deep run shows a moving stream gone waste,
in need an irrigation trace to make.
Yes, canal takes large flow to distant place,
and rightly leads to fields of grapes and hay.
Where migratory workers shows their face,
to harvest ripe crops neath sun each hot day.
For river’s nothing late but dry sand lane,
a place where snakes and lizards play their games.
Where youths run new sand-buggy wheels for gain,
and take falls showing speed to favorite dames
Gone mountain river running bright and clean
Some other needs for you are newly seen.

I like this. I know it is tough living in Mexico. You showed the bueaty and roughness of it very well. |
