Life's Daydream

Contributed by wizard on Tuesday, 27th September 2005 @ 09:56:19 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I ride this wave of cloud and air
Roaming free - without a care,
Reviewing life as I've led
A simple journey through my head

I drift on past my boyhood days
Behold! The field in which I played
The boy I see I'm sure is me
Playing in my memory

Next upon my teenage years
I see I've caused so many tears
Such mistakes and malice grand
So much sadness by my very hand

My second decade passes next
It seems that half these years were hexed
More confusion and devastation
On my way toward annihilation

Then halfway through I realized
That up to now life's been disguised
So I chose the path of serenity
And walked it well for all to see

And now today this path I'm on
Though not here for very long
Seems this is where I'll remain
For here I have so much to gain

The title is perfect, as is much that follows it . . .
I positively LOVE writes like this. It touches the soul
in a way that is too few and far between.

"Then halfway through I realized
That up to now life's been disguised"

These two incredible lines . . . so much said with so few
words. An honest, and brave outpouring here. Almost
cleansing in it's telling.

It appears, dear wiz, that you have been awakened, even
since this . . .

~Breezy
