I want out

Contributed by Caged Soul on Tuesday, 27th September 2005 @ 07:51:05 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Too long have you tried to keep me in,
inseperatable we’ve been for too long.
Loving each other, hiding in each other.
No longer can this charade continue, I need out.
We’ve had some good times, our lives intertwined,
inseperatable, for dare we part – we set
in motion the start of judgement, segregation.
Unbeknown to us, blinded by our love,
my life flew away like a dove,
blackened by our love, devoted.

I need salvation from this self-entrapment, I need
To be liberated from this social oppression,
Of this fake love, I need out.

As if you’re ashamed of me, you hide me from others.
Leave me behind when you go out.
You tell me its better this way.

Well….this time as you leave, you’d be
doing so without the key, no more coming back,
cuz now it’s my turn.

I’m coming out and letting everyone know
Ash is back.
My soul glowing with a new found pride.

This is a good, raw and determined write. Making a positive change is always good. I like the emotional spill, you conveyed your message well.
