The Ghost That Lingers

Contributed by Darkhorse71 on Tuesday, 27th September 2005 @ 02:21:11 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

I have a ghost here in my heart
that lingers every day,
I don’t want for her to part
I want to make her stay.

The memories that we hold so dear
are joys of life we shared,
and now I see it very clear
the pain means that we cared.

Remember on The Perfect Day
we thought would always be?
Our kids together, they would play,
the rest was you and me.

Walking on the beach at night
arm in arm through the sand.
I will never lose the sight
of a memory so grand.

Laying down beneath the sky
safely away from harm,
feeling your precious body try
to stay warm in my arms.

Picnic lunches at the park,
playing ball with the boys;
that has always left a mark,
for those were days of joy.

Going to watch your sister wed
we made our own special vow,
for between us it was said
we would always be here and now.

On my mirror writing I Love You,
you planted a kiss on the glass.
You were always so true,
you had nothing but class.

Holding a rose up next to your face
Saying nature could never compare,
now I am locked in that time and place
thinking sometimes that life isn’t fair.

Then I got hurt and I didn’t feel
that I was worthy to stay,
the circle of life became a wheel
and ran me over that day.

So many memories, too far apart,
I let it all slip away.
The ghost that lingers in my heart
Will never go away.

Very sad my friend but I've been down that road too.
It realy hurt for a long time but I UNDEdRTAND now, u know hindsight. Just keep writing, as u know how healing it can be. it's really sad that our best writes come when we ache so bad we think it will kill us.
All my kids have the same father but I've sat wondering many times after that with different so called partners. Then 'bout six years ago i just stopped trying to date. I REALIZED THAT i HAD TO BE HAPPY WITH ME before I could find happiness without the complications. Someday I WILL SEE MY SOULMATE AGAIN. When I sorted the the **** **** I FOUND MY HEART. My dANG CAPS LOCK Has it's own mind tonite. Any way friend u 3wll find your inner peace but please don't be too hard on yourself.
Hey u got us and with your writing talent I'll read what ever u wonna write. Just be yourself.
luv, huggs, prayer,
emy
U will smile again.

Dearest John,
You expressed your emotions in such a beautiful, loving
way. I'm sorry that you or anyone has to go through this kind
of pain. It's heartbreaking. Sweet Emy is right though. Keep writing.
It helps like you wouldn't believe!!! And if it's any comfort at all,
know that your poem is exquisitely written and wonderful to read.
Thanks for sharing.

*lots of hugs*
~Breezy

Hugggsssss John, I so know how you must feel. When we loose the one soul we love the most, we are lost forever. Its a feeling that will always linger in the deepest of our soul. It will stay with us forever.
Never try to replace that with another love but instead...embrace it with all you have and treasure the fact ya have been blessed to experience a love so grand. Give it a place in yer heart. This is what makes us alive n feel the emotions. It makes us human.
Every person in our lives, we love each in different ways and every way is grand.

Well done with this John. Could feel all the emotion in this. It was like watching a lil video so well visualised.

Huggsss,

Nats.
