Firmly on the Ground

Contributed by pisces101 on Tuesday, 27th September 2005 @ 01:15:56 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Today, I put my feet firmly on the ground,
but my chin was not held high.
I let my shower run cold,
and told yesterday goodbye.

I used my new lipstick
to tell the world that I will be okay.
I pinned my strength on the wall
in hopes that it would stay.

The evening did not say "hello,"
but then again, neither did the dawn.
I drove by your house on the way home.
Just to see that you were gone.

I kneeled at the foot of my bed
to cry out to the heavens.
I got no answer tonight,
they must be closed, its half past eleven.

So I took my feet firmly off the ground
then neatly fell apart.
The night has come around again.
The day was unable to mend my heart.

Beautifully done and full of emotions we can all relate to.
We all have pain in our lives brought on by relationships
with fallible human beings and we probably cause our own
share of pain to others without even realizing we are guilty
as well. But remember the Bible says, "Weeping may endure for a moment, but joy cometh in the morning!"
