defeasance

Contributed by weepingprophet on Monday, 26th September 2005 @ 07:48:42 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

So this is our futile recap
Our intent and shame
The slice of heartbreak
And sacrifice
Divide the lines of time and faith
We believe in this
The bed rest of the locked ward
And small windowed doors
Confined to what we are lacking
Escape, relief
You’re my defeat

Smooth and tender touch
Betray me again
The lust of my own blood
And falling
You’re always calling
Always calling me
Back from the shame of my intentions
The sacrifice, pain, my religion

You’re my defeat
You’re my defeat

The locked ward
Simple escape
I am the product
I hate what I create
The mirror and it’s lines
The face of an addict wrapped in time
Immovable and only confined
To what
What are we lacking
What am I lacking?
Escape to the relief of you
My defeat

Here is the same thing in song;

"Look what you've done
You've made a fool out of someone
who thought love was true
but found out that you
were just having fun
why do you want to make me blue
after all I've been good to you"

Not my words although I wish they were.

Quote from "I've been good to you" by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles

You words . . . sigh
