I felt empowered today to live my life my way.
To put an end to all this abuse and
only keep those around who really want to.
It felt so good to feel the sun and smile and hug the warm breeze.
I looked at all the beauty around me and thanked my God for making me free.
I’ve accomplished a great deal in this journey thus far
Radiating with determination, which has pushed me through it all.
Climbing obstacles and barriers, drudging through the rain.
Temporary setbacks, yet refusing to fall.
I felt empowered today to learn from my past, weed through my present, grow from this all
Keeping only those around who value and respect the woman I am.
