My mind is empty
I’m submerged
In the deep hallow of a dreamless mind
A relief from the rush and hustle of consciousness
Pure
Until
It is broken
Taken and squeezed so that I can feel it
stretching, straining to stay
intact
In despair it pops
Worries flow over the edges
In my mind all the doors are knocked
And lights flipped on
One bye one
The circuits are connected
Until
They reach my eyes
Shooting open as my body springs forward
my surroundings soon
focus
The rhythm of knocking doors and flipping lights
Distinguished
I glance at the bedside table
And hit snooze

This prose piece has a nice twist to it.
The subtlety involved with the flow of
the composition enhances the meaning
of the ending of the piece. Very excellent piece. |
