Solitude
By: Danner C. Swa
The never changing thoughts of solitude,
Cloud my mind with hope and fear.
There is one excuse why,
I keep myself from the world I dear.
Pacing back and forth from wall to wall,
I think about how I’m sick of them all.
Why can’t they accept me for me,
And not just some conforming *doll.
They’ll never appreciate,
The potential I possess.
I would never deviate,
I must have success.
Impossible to avoid feeling this way,
This long list of insecurities.
Is it possible to throw them all away,
And obtain some personal sanctuary.
There is a small ray of light,
Shining though the night.
I turn to face it,
But it’s vaguely bright.
I start to realize I’m wasting time,
I should try to prove them wrong.
They are nothing but a paradigm,
When will I become headstrong.
I think I’m ready to face my fears,
And approach my so called peers.
I’ll tell them to their face,
What I’ve wanted to say for years.
*Puppet, or marionette

I can really relate to your style of writing. A lot of my poems central around more desolate views but same structure. I love it! Direct, straight to the point ... yet paradoxically abstract and reflects an individual. I really like it |
