Love is an action taken.

Topic: LovePoetry

Love is an action taken.

There is nothing left to say.
Love is the reflection of itself.
How do I explain this?
How do I say what I see?
Love is a suffering.

A child lifts her hand.
A man disregards her lies.

A woman smiles as I pass by.
I smile back.

She is alone.
I am alone.
We are silent.

A young man cries and laughs and drinks.
A young woman finds release, bottles up, endures.

A phone rings.
A phone is broken static left hanging by its head.

A space is left after every point.
There are not enough words.

A woman holds her head.
A man holds his beer.

A song plays over stereos.
It is the same song.
It is always the same song,
singing different voices.

It is freedom forgotten by freedom.
It is an action taken.
We feel nothing.

We feel pain.
We feel forever.
We do not feel time.
We do not feel love.

Love is an action taken.

There are holes in his hands.
There are holes in his sides,
and water is the closest thing we have.

He wears the thorn upon his head.
He wears the thorn,
and water is the closest thing we have.

The first line got me, the last line made me weep. A great job. Thank you for posting.

Be well,
