I know you love it when I smile,
But I can't bring myself to show it.
I laugh when I cry.
I laugh when I'm down.
But I don't smile when I'm laughing.
When I think of you I want to,
But I still can't, no matter.
Before, I couldn't stop smiling,
But that was before it ... hurt.
Now I'm crying but not laughing.
These tears are genuine.
Because I love you, no matter.
I wish I would smile,
Like before and I'd bite my lip,
Just to stop enough to speak.
But now there's no need to talk.
All my pain is showing.
It gleams in my face and eyes.
It used to hide behind that smile.
But what now, that it is gone?

You don't need to hide behind your smile, it'll just make things worse, show your emotions, your feelings, your friends or whoever will understand you and should accept you more for being able to do so. Great write.
