Why was the law ever given

Contributed by Archie on Sunday, 25th September 2005 @ 07:50:29 AM in AEST
Topic: didactic

Why was the law ever written
Why did God give us a law
I believe because he loves us
and does not want to see us hurt

Does it hurt when people steal from you
Does it hurt when your friend lies to you
Your view of the law can be flawed
If you know not the reason for the law

No one ever thinks how God feels
everyone just thinks about self
Everyone is quick to blame him
even I have blamed him myself

God took the greatest hurt
and let us put the nails in him
He did it so that i could know
How much I ought to really know him

A wall separates man from God
A veil that we call transgressions
God's ways are perfect he does no wrong
but it hurts him when we hurt each other

Don't tell me you don't have a choice
when it comes to right and wrong
You choose what you want to eat when you are hungry

Don't tell me you have never sinned
because that is the greatest flaw
cause you nullify the grace that could help you

No one ever thinks about God
until their life starts to go wrong
or they just forsake him in their anger

No one ever thinks about God
to give thanks for his laws
without them I could never be happy

We are the creation he the creator
would you be angry if your child disobeyed you
When we don't seek him he gives us over
to the things that separate us from him

Why was we given the law
God gave it because he loves us
but we won't see it till the end

Some strive more to know him
but even they are flawed
that is why he offers to us forgiveness

You don't have to believe me
You can hide behind your heart
and live life blaming God like our fore fathers

Or maybe just this once
you can find out for yourself
and you will see how much that Jesus loves us

How well you say that Archie!

If God is angry, then it is the anger of wounded love.
Some people just cannot understand this.
And yes, - HE suffers, suffers becasuse HE loves.
HE identified with human suffering so much that He incarnated as man in sorrow, and was nailed to a cross and suffered agonizing death.
Identification with man what more can HE do?
Great reminder.
Thanks for posting
Elizabeth

I love the didactic style for it is designed to teach, and Archie, you convey the instructional messages here, pleasureable entertainment my friend, and the moral to this story is, stop sinning, take the time to say thank you dear Lord, Yes, Jesus loves us. loves us all.

It is a good thing we do have his guidings, cant imagine not having some sort of structure in this world, half of it thrown out anyway, people tend to go their own ways, sinning as if its we live on a merry-go-round playworld. No wonder someone wrote, stop the world I want to get off lol.

***No one ever thinks about God

No one.. ok, well in that case, let me be the first to thank Him, too late I do this everyday of my life.

Huggs,

Raquel Leah... :D says again and again, >>>>

>>>>Thank you God for giving us these laws, I love you Lord, Amen

The Law is a big issue and that is where religions seperate....
but your write is so true...God gives us all a choice and some strive more to know Him and others never think of God...
but I believe the Law was given for a purpose....
thanks Archie for an absolutly brilliant write...and I for one will always read your poems that -are written like this...
