Refuge

Contributed by darkhorse71 on Sunday, 25th September 2005 @ 01:20:32 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

In a world made up of loneliness
that's full of loss and rain,
I found what man is looking for,
a solace from the pain.

All the dung that I once lived for
has now been turned to gain.
My life of broken ruins
will never be the same.

I now have dreams to live for,
so many things to do.
What more is there to look for
then another day with you?

You changed me for the better,
so my life I give to you.
But this one thing I ask for -
that you always will be true.

Nothing is more beautiful
than two who are in love.
Their elegance is left unmatched
from earth to the heavens above.

So in this world of loneliness
if you and me are true,
we can add a little happiness
for those who are feeling blue.

That is marvelous! Very impressive for such a young age. Mine was in the 5th grade, lol:

I wish I was a butterfly
Flying high above
I 'd look at all below
Sending peace and love

My Mom still has it on her wall. I am saying how long ago either, but it is turning yellow if that gives any indication. : )

Great poem. I think when a person falls in love they get a new perspective on life. This poem exemplifies that very well.
