Loving Thoughts

Contributed by brew on Saturday, 24th September 2005 @ 06:44:54 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

Beautiful Mountains, Snow covered on top
A , A frame house, nestled beneath big oak trees
Out back, a yard that covers acres
On one side, its filled with plants of all sorts
On the other is has a tree swing, and differ flowers
Flowers of red, gold, purple, and whites
Like daffadills, tulips, and daisies
In the mist of all, it has smiling faces
A family that is so joyous, because they are surrounded, by all
Mom, in the kitchen with a peach pie in the window
Dad out in the pasture, getting ready to milk
Kids, all running and dancing in jubilee
What a fantastic, theme
To have a simple, yet wonderful life........with all the trimmings
All cares, and worries, gone where they wont be dwelled on
Just to have the warmth of loving thoughts

Yes the description is a bit vague, but it's about the feelings and not details. Dwelling on past joy with sadness at the back of you mind for the present comes across quite well.

I have to agree with BenPapa, this is what I grew up wishing for and never believing it existed. Luckily I found out later it does. You captured the wistfulness in a great way.

peace and hugs to ya, john
