Worm

Topic: SadPoetry

I see you in the corner.
You’re not hiding well, but no one bothers to look for you.
Are you worthless?
Hours spent straight-backed in the shower
Water freezing your neck, and you sob
The lines you have been taught to sob.
It’s ingrained in your memory.
Worthless, dirty, don’t deserve to live.
Worthless, dirty, don’t deserve to live.
And why can’t you be loved?
What was it that you did?
You recoil at a hug, a hand on your face.
Worth twenty bucks in some basement,
You’re better off dead.
I see you sitting there
Knuckles to your mouth, always silent,
Not taught right from wrong,
Only that you are wrong.
Head bent forwards, slammed against the wall
Three, four, five times until Mommy comes and hits you
And she looks at the marks on your arm from the curling iron
And says she’ll do it again.
The shadows crawl in from the window
Black against gray and black against white
And you are gray, always gray,
And you are muted, alone, ignored.

Hi S/L/P... I can't imagine what you must have gone through, but I do know you have become a strong and talented young man. My heart goes out to you. You write with such compassion.

This made me cry... Nobody should have to go through that... I bet anything you have been made stronger because of it cause it takes a very strong person to be able to write something like this...My heart goes out to you...

Always,
Daniela

I have to say this made me cry Josh....but I also feel so proud of you for having the courage to share it. I know you well enough already that you're not looking for pity..just an understanding of how nigh on impossible it is to lead your life without sharing some of this agony. You write so well.
Love
Chrissie x
