You can’t buy her love
You can’t earn her trust
So imperfectly perfect
The diamond in the ruff
You can call her name
And pray that she’ll come
But she can’t give you everything
When all is said and done
And isn’t it so strange
Beauty can hold such pain
And times change to match the season
The summer left without a reason
And even though I said goodbye
It doesn’t stop the tears I cry
You can’t buy her love
You can’t earn her trust
So imperfectly perfect
My diamond in the ruff
You might see her after work
And she might look your way
But once your time is up
Just know she’ll never stay
And isn’t it so strange
Beauty can hold such pain
And times change to match the season

The two of us always in motion
Mighty waves of a vast ocean
The two of us like paper and fire
Burn a flame most can only admire
