When Rain Falls

Contributed by daprdan on Saturday, 24th September 2005 @ 01:10:35 AM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

The rains staccato on the roof,
Provides us with the verbal proof,
That truly rain is falling down,
Falling gently on the ground.

And when the rain falls on the ground,
And makes that pitter patter sound,
The rhythmic sound can soothe the soul,
With gentle rain this seems the goal.

But it can fall and then it stops,
And start again in great big drops,
Sometimes it comes so very hard,
The floods can leave the landscape scarred.

But when the force is like a gale,
And hearts beat fast and faces pale,
Anxiety sometimes sets in,
And fear can rule when sound is din.

So if you find yourself outside,
Far from someplace you can hide,
With no protection as of yet,
For sure you'll find that you get wet.

Boy does this strike home with me. I live in
Florida, where I was born. These hurricanes
the past few years turned the pitter patter here
into boom booms! Smile. Great rhyming prose!

a very fine piece that lets rain touch the soul again and again. I liked it very much, the rhyme, the tone... it's really, really good

thank you for sharing it!
