Wandering Escapades

Contributed by tdp on Friday, 23rd September 2005 @ 08:58:21 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I can’t get out of here. I’m lost again.
Can’t find my way once more
in this city they call the loneliest crowded place.
Some how it always seems to happen to me, wandering escapades which lead me to nowhere.
Two roads divert and I always seem to choose the one I’m not supposed to.
I ask for direction.
No, I’m secretly pleading for guidance.
No one seems to want to help.
Every familiar face I pass is unrecognizable.
I walk the streets that I have walked a thousand times
Alone again.
Growing tiresome from this grueling journey to nowhere.
I’m lost again, yet I know exactly where I am.

It’s time to go home- I’ve had enough, I’m turning around, enough of this!

Once you know where you are and where you want to go (home), its quite difficult to get lost from there, you are doing good.

Alas, too many times have I felt this way...
Brilliant write, my friend. A sort of hopelessness drips
from every line except the last.
It’s time to go home- I’ve had enough, I’m turning around, enough of this!
A decision made with conviction not to be the victim. WONDERFUL!!!
I enjoyed this immensely! I look forward to many more...

I love the way you wrote this. Incredible. I could see & feel every turn you made. Great imagery. I hope next time you go out there, you find your way. Home is, however, home sweet home.

Take care,

Tim
