To the Grave

A quickened pace leads
to sudden falls
Tumblings which
crush bones filled
with hope
leaking out only to
ooze through a world
of sleep where
a dream that never
came true died
in the grave, along
with its host who
drew colder with every
empty breath she took.

I applaud
from the shadows
as footsteps
echo down the hall...
your room awaits your presence. |
