Mea Culpa

As brief as a breath we inhale
when a rare beauty strikes
that’s how frail
our encounter was.
I thought it would pass
that it would hurt less and less
but NO
you had to stay and linger on
you had to suck my flash to the bone.
You crawled inside my had
and scared me to death.
Now your scent is my guide
like a dog on a hunt
I move through the
fog of my life.
My fault is my demon
nothing you can do can ever
distinguish this inferno of blame.
I am the reason of my own shame
Culpa is my given name.

Hello there,
I liked the beginning and the end for me the following lines are too sharp for this beautiful writing
you had to suck my flash to the bone.
You crawled inside my had
and scared me to death.
Best wishes,
Alex

This is an eerily beautiful yet sad poem. Keep up the great poetry! |
