I run because it helps me to breathe
It lets me clear my mind
Sometimes though I don't know why
It helps me not to feel, not to feel pain or distress
It keeps me calm and all I hear
Is the thud, thud, thud that I can't repress
I run becaus eI have no other choice
I must find some escape
I run because I know I must
It is my justification towards pain
For though it hurts
It always helps
Helps my mind to clear
And when I run
I have no choice
But to know that there is no reason
To fear
I run because I have to
My heartbeat MUST continue
For I know if I don't run
My lungs might stop working...
My blood might stop flowing...
My fingers might stop moving...
My brain might stop knowing...
So I run hard with all my might
I think about it through the night
I dream of running when I sleep
You'd be suprised at my heartbeat
I'd spend all day if I could
Running and running through the woods
I try to run away from life
But I can't go any faster
Though I try
