HOME MADE PIE

Contributed by Manda2 on Thursday, 22nd September 2005 @ 04:56:43 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

The dog keeps scratching although I've spent an absolute fortune on flea spray,
The washing on the line is drenched and yet they said it wouldn't rain today.
My sweet baby girl has hogged the bathroom to dye her blonde locks bright pink.
My other little darling has filled the house with a wallowing spray of cheap stink!
My husband is complaining because it's been a while since he had home-made pie,
And the piles of junk mail keep arriving, advising I take insurance before I die.

But I know behind my front door and right up to my low ceiling
Woven across every inch of the floor, under wallpaper that's peeling,
Is a love that keeps us all happy, warm and together,
And I hope and pray everyday, it will be there forever.

And I know it will.
