The Grind

Ride the ride
The pretentious grind,
Around and round we go
We feel the lie,
But would rather die
Than let the nature grow
We feel the lie
And softly cry
On the shoulder of regret
We walk the race
And fight the chase
Too easy to forget
The ragged tree,
Forgotten Three
Choice made but meaning lost
We shall ignore
Those bloody shores,
Too relevant the cost
The grind, the grind;
The cycle slides
Into centrifugal force
Make a prediction
To feed the addiction
And skew the forward-leading course
Don't kill the light
Or fight the fight
And watch this heavy burden smile
Your faith is cold,
Reality's on hold
Forget, forget, for just a little while
Can we relevance, suspend
In our decision to pretend,
Or are we doomed to wonder aimlessly?
The choice be yours
Of faith and cause
Or run away and hope that you'll be free
