Outside My Window

Contributed by yellow_sundragon on Wednesday, 21st September 2005 @ 04:12:24 AM in AEST
Topic: ambiguous

The laughter outside my window
Brought me out of a sound sleep
I lay, listening, for what seemed like ages
For the people to find their way to their rooms...
They sounded like they were having fun
More fun than I, asleep at my desk
With homework spread all around
And I wonder what school is about,
Friends?
Learning?
Classes?
I suppose this is a persuit for another night
As I can hardly keep my eyes open
And I hope that is the last
Of the laughter outside my window...

I think you did a decent job on this. You posed a question that many in school need to ask themselves.

Laughter woke you up and out of your elusive dream sleep.. well, sounds like you are well disciplined to have the skill of resolving the sleepiness, your ears awakening to the sound of life, as you learn it.. at least your are conscious of what is going on in the world.. perhaps you don't want to know? No matter, as long as you are alive, you will be educated by the world around you, in a school of thoughts, listening to the breathing of the laughter of life..

It won't be the last.. unless you slip away, somehow..

I liked this one, its very... thought provoking lol, not your usual style, no, but a style that is refreshing to read once in a while. Brilliant, Jaime, simply brilliant. :)
