7 Sins

Contributed by Channing on Tuesday, 20th September 2005 @ 11:35:45 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The Earth gives way to the heaviness
With few steps comes unbeatable weariness
The abnormal anatomy must come face to face
With the sin of Gluttony

The hunger of huge amounts of wealth
Sneaks up and kills thoughts in stealth
The annoyance of to much need
Comes with the sin of Greed

The taste of success goes to your head
It’s cold and hard leaving a mark like lead
It expands your head to wide
May the sin make you drown in your Pride

So enjoyable you can never have enough
Soon the other person becomes tough
It becomes powerful enough to be a must
May the sin disease your uncontrollable Lust

It’s too hard, to much work to get up
Just sit and use all of your time up
You simmer down just like a cold broth
May you never get anywhere with the sin of Sloth

Everyone has something you’ve wanted
You can never seem to equal and feel taunted
Life around you seems to hate you drastically
Everything will consume you with the sin of Envy

It comes down on you and becomes uncontrollable
You realize killing is very capable
All of the anger and hate creates a warm bath
For you to bathe in the sin and blood of Wrath

This really caught my attention. I especially liked this verse...

Everyone has something you’ve wanted
You can never seem to equal and feel taunted
Life around you seems to hate you drastically
Everything will consume you with the sin of Envy

A very clever take on an ancient bane. Good job!

Be well,
Loende
